Don Johnson – After Miami Vice
Don Johnson has been involved in many projects over the years, some even getting him into some ‘Miami Vice’ style adventures of his own. But here’s a few things that Donnie Wayne Johnson got his hands in over the years.
He and “Miami Vice” co-star John Diehl (Larry Zito) were investors in the boxing career of Mark Breland.
Don was involved in the co-writing of a two-hour movie with his neighbor Hunter S. Thompson. It didn’t make it as a movie, but CBS bought the story and turned it into the popular tv series “Nash Bridges” (1996).
The creators of “Miami Vice” were actually against casting Don Johnson at first. This wasn’t surprising, since the poor guy had starred in four failed TV pilots. But he auditioned for the part of Sonny Crockett while he was in Miami anyway working on a low-budget film on Vietnam called Cease Fire (1985).
During the 80′s Don was also considered for the part of John McClane in Die Hard (1988), but his good friend Bruce Willis got the role.
